If we’d just step out on a whim
With our hearts in our hands
A smile that always wins
Strength to stand when we can’t stand

If we’d be independent of judgments
Hold our dreams higher than our pride
Who could impede our progress?
Who could stop our tides?

If we’d just hold faith a little tighter
And love even with broken hearts
If we’d show affection without possession
We’d be Masters of this art

If we’d just walk in patience
And allowed ourselves to simply let go
If we’d accept the constant law of change
Who could hinder our growth?

If we’d just talk with kindness
Get ourselves out of the way
If we’d take action over reaction
Who could harm our space?

If in truth we knew there could be
no antagonistic people in our lives
How would we change each day?
How many tears would we dry each night?

If we’d just listen without assuming
Observe instead of taking things personally
If we’d live as if no one could change our state-of-mind
How powerful could we truly be?

If we’d just believed in ourselves
When everything says, “doubt!”
If we’d appreciate and give ourselves in service
Would there be a life without?

If we’d just find greater Truth
In the world that exists within
our world wouldn’t make us happy
our happiness would make our world spin

We can be Masters of ourselves
If we escape our mind’s hindering
Be still, be grateful, be happy
These are the secrets of living
